STRAIGHTTIME.ASIA, INDONESIA – Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) has officially revoked the business license of PT Bank Perekonomian Rakyat (BPR) Ceper Permata Artha, reaffirming that customers’ deposits remain protected under the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).
The decision was stipulated through OJK Board of Commissioners Decree No. KEPR-111/D.03/2026, dated June 25, 2026, concerning the revocation of the bank’s operating license. The bank was headquartered on Jalan Raya Klaten–Solo Km. 8.4, Besole, Ceper District, Klaten Regency, Central Java.
According to OJK, the license revocation forms part of its supervisory measures aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s banking industry and maintaining public confidence in the financial system.
The regulator first placed BPR Ceper Permata Artha under the Bank Under Rehabilitation (BDP) supervisory status on June 18, 2025, after the bank failed to meet the minimum Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) requirement of 12 percent and was classified as financially unhealthy.
Subsequently, on June 12, 2026, OJK escalated the bank’s status to Bank Under Resolution (BDR) after determining that the bank’s management and shareholders had been given sufficient time to restore the institution’s financial condition, particularly its capital position, in accordance with OJK Regulation (POJK) No. 28 of 2023. However, the rehabilitation efforts were unsuccessful.
Meanwhile, the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), through the Decision of its Board Member for Deposit Insurance and Bank Resolution Programs No. S-R.8/ADK3/2026 dated June 17, 2026, decided not to rescue the bank and subsequently requested OJK to revoke its operating license.
Following LPS’ request and in accordance with Article 19 of the applicable OJK regulation, OJK officially revoked the business license of PT BPR Ceper Permata Artha.
With the license now revoked, LPS will carry out its statutory responsibilities by guaranteeing eligible customer deposits and initiating the bank’s liquidation process in accordance with Law No. 24 of 2004 on the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation and Law No. 4 of 2023 on Financial Sector Development and Strengthening.
OJK urged customers of BPR Ceper Permata Artha to remain calm, emphasizing that public deposits in Indonesian banks, including rural banks (BPRs), are protected by LPS in accordance with prevailing regulations. (**)
