Public Urged to Verify Investment Legality
To avoid becoming victims of investment fraud, Satgas PASTI urged the public to verify both the legality of investment companies and the financial products they offer before committing any funds.
Consumers are advised to ensure that crypto assets appear on the official Crypto Asset List, avoid unrealistic investment promises, and fully understand potential investment risks before making financial decisions.
The task force stressed that financial education and literacy remain the strongest defense against increasingly sophisticated investment scams fueled by advances in digital technology.
Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre Receives More Than 579,000 Fraud Reports
Satgas PASTI also disclosed the latest developments from the Indonesia Anti-Scam Centre (IASC).
From November 22, 2024, through May 31, 2026, the center received 579,459 public reports involving suspected financial transaction fraud.
Authorities verified 998,558 bank accounts, while 515,553 accounts were successfully frozen to prevent further financial losses.
The enforcement efforts have secured approximately Rp638.9 billion in victims’ funds, while around Rp196.93 billion has already been returned to affected consumers.
