Looking ahead, Amsakar expressed confidence that Batam’s investment growth would continue through a series of strategic government policies.

One of the most significant initiatives is the expansion of Batam’s Free Trade Zone and Free Port (KPBPB) under Government Regulation No. 47 of 2025.

The regulation expands the FTZ area from eight islands to 22 islands, increasing its total coverage from approximately 71,500 hectares to 152,686.44 hectares.

According to Amsakar, the expansion creates substantial opportunities for new investments across manufacturing, logistics, tourism, energy, and future-oriented industries.

At the same time, BP Batam continues accelerating strategic infrastructure development, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, ports, airports, clean water distribution networks, wastewater treatment facilities, hazardous waste management systems, healthcare infrastructure, and other public service facilities.

Amsakar emphasized that investment growth and infrastructure development must go hand in hand.

“We are committed to ensuring that every investor receives business certainty, adequate infrastructure, and fast, professional services. Through this synergy, investment will not only drive economic growth but also create jobs and deliver tangible benefits for the people of Batam,” he concluded.(*)
